Jack’s Snack Shack…

Most of us have found the various places to have lunch while ATVing or driving around out here in the boonies. There’s Nicatous Lodge (next on my list to try), the Pine Tree Store at Grand Lake Stream, and of course, Reggie’s Way.  Now there is a new guy in town!! He is located about a half mile from the Lodge and has a wonderful variety of food.

You can read more about Jack’s Snack Shack by clicking HERE to go to my regular blog where I have written more and shown more photo’s. We ate here a couple of weeks ago and the food is excellent. Be sure to check it out!!

Nicatous Lodge is open again…

Just wanted to let everyone know that Nicatous Lodge has reopened, under new management. The new managers, Jeff and Theresa Harriman, are familiar faces to many of us. The website says that it is open for food, gas and lodging. Check the website or give them a call for further details.

Congratulations and good luck, Jeff & Theresa.

The sounds of night at the lake…

We spent last weekend at the lake. The sounds at night are awesome. We hear many different frogs croaking and of course, the call of the loons. While sitting at the waters edge on Friday night, I thought that I would like to be able to share the sounds with the readers. If you have a camp on the lake or have spent a night tent camping, this is the sounds that you will hear or have heard.

I hope that you enjoy. Please note that I recorded this with my camera and it was dark so unfortunately all that you will be able to see is one spot where the neighbors light was on.  Sit back, relax, close you eyes, listen and enjoy!

Changes

Well, you may notice a change to the site. I had a computer crash and decided to buy a MAC instead of another PC. That meant my old site building software didn’t work anymore. I am familiar with WordPress to build sites so I decided to give it a whirl on this one. I think it looks pretty good! What do you think??

With this site, you will be able to add comments to anything that I write on the news page.  I am also going to put a forum up in the next few days where all of you will be able to put your two cents in, with topics like road conditions to recipes. Stay tuned…
