Finally!! 2011 Meeting minutes posted…

Well,  here it is a month after the meeting and I am finally getting the meeting minutes posted. We had company for part of the month and then a really poor internet connection too.  I’m fortunate to have ANY internet connection out here at the lake but still, it is so frustrating when I can’t do a simple post. OK, enough of my whining. You can find the minutes by clicking HERE.  Thanks to everyone for their patience.

I posted a few pictures on Facebook. Anyone wanting to see them can click HERE. Have some that you took and would like to share??? Just go to the Nicatous Lake Facebook page (HERE) and post your photo’s and/or comments.

Nicatous Lodge – Lobster Feed…

Jeff & Theresa at Nicatous Lodge will be doing a lobster feed on Wednesday,  August 3rd & one on Friday, Aug. 5th!  Call (207- 356-7506) or email (nicatouslodge@hughes.net) them by the day before if you would like to reserve or need more info.

We didn’t make it to the last one they had but we heard that the food was fabulous. Give them a call today to make a reservation.

32-00-0 Road Repairs

UPDATE:
Road work is complete for this summer, as of July 26th. Culverts and ditching should help during the spring and with any heavy rainfall.

The 32-00-0 road will be under-going some maintenance during the week of the 18th. There will be culvert replacements that may cause brief delays. There will also be some roadside ditching being done.

Please drive carefully in the work zones. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Herb Jordan will be working on this job. Anyone needing gravel or work done on their property should contact him. His job schedule will take him out of the area, probably for the rest of the summer.

Jack’s Snack Shack…

Most of us have found the various places to have lunch while ATVing or driving around out here in the boonies. There’s Nicatous Lodge (next on my list to try), the Pine Tree Store at Grand Lake Stream, and of course, Reggie’s Way.  Now there is a new guy in town!! He is located about a half mile from the Lodge and has a wonderful variety of food.

You can read more about Jack’s Snack Shack by clicking HERE to go to my regular blog where I have written more and shown more photo’s. We ate here a couple of weeks ago and the food is excellent. Be sure to check it out!!

January 17 conditions at the lake…

Just received this synopsis of conditions at that lake that was sent to me by a camp owner on the south end of the lake. His email to me stated:

32-00-00 road is not plowed
Studmill rd is plowed
Ice 12-14″ around Dollar Island
Pickerel were the only fish caught
Trail conditions were ok but more snow today should make them very nice!!

Thanks for passing on the info, Angus. I’m sure that this info will be helpful to others.

Hope that everyone is having a great winter.

Changes

Well, you may notice a change to the site. I had a computer crash and decided to buy a MAC instead of another PC. That meant my old site building software didn’t work anymore. I am familiar with WordPress to build sites so I decided to give it a whirl on this one. I think it looks pretty good! What do you think??

With this site, you will be able to add comments to anything that I write on the news page.  I am also going to put a forum up in the next few days where all of you will be able to put your two cents in, with topics like road conditions to recipes. Stay tuned…
